Sounds like a fun project, you're executing basic lines faster than I'm doing assembly instructions . I would have loved to opto isolate the inputs but it only takes 4.5 mA to pull the HEP inputs low, can't run an LED on that. The opamp inputs take less than 9 nA.

I couldn't believe the speed either. Compiled basic of course. Plenty of cycles for doing all I need. And very easy to interface to laptop (usb). Built in 8 ports of A/D too. I use 1 board to simulate the car (generate tach and Distance sensor based on gear, tps) and the other to read everything and control tranny solonoids.

Appreciate the offer, but the 20mA forward current isn't even achieveable with the HEP outputs. The HEP just pulls the lines low, the ECU pulls them to 8 volts with a 2k resistor. The adapter would pull the lines down due to excessive (>4mA) current draw. The Opamp has 300uA draw when pulled to 8 volts, which means a 0.6 volt drop on the HEP lines as opposed to a 4 volt drop.

What trans? 604? Performance application? We need more electonics people developing stuff for these cars...

No, A413/A670 for my track only car... but it's a one-of, don't expect a product.

Preliminary testing shows that the problems are fixed. I'll drive it some more over the course of the week, but the high rpm miss is gone. I'll probably put the scope on the HEP lines to verify the voltages are in spec.

That's cool to hear about the hybrid. I'm hoping for the same results for the 2.4 adapter. Good job with everything and I'm glad you stayed with it.

Is this the same or different problem with the 2.4 adaptor. Have you solved that problem?

A little bit of both. The things I changed would have eventually caused problems with the 2.4 as well. I believe I have solved the 2.4 problem, but want to make sure the hardware is sound.

The cam sensor on a 2.0 is 90 degrees off from that of the 2.4. Was this taken into account anywhere?

Test Neon is a 2.4

Done with school this week, more activity on this project to follow.

I'm loving every bit of this. I'm having slight spark and injector pulse problems with my damn Daytona right now and I would love to see if this would fix it, not to mention get rid of my distributor.

Did you have to swap your plug wires or are you using the original 2.0 cams?
