2.5 l neon

Hello, I have turboed a 93 saturn, and blew it up...and now I rebiult another engine and have it supercharged with a m62 blower. I am sick of saturns, and am looking for some thing new to play with.

You can put a 2.4l dohc neon head on a 2.5l turbo labaron with a custom turbo manifold.

Can you take that 2.5l dohc turbo engine and put the whole thing into a neon?

normally people just swap a 2.4(use an older one if you want to use stock electronics) into the neon, then turbo it, and many use megasquirt to run it, 2.4 and 2.0 have the same bolt patterns for transmissions. look at some neon web sites for much more detailed info.

The 2.4L swap is an easy one... and VERY cheap to build thanks to the SRT-4. Get a stratus engine, put in stock SRT internals (like $400 at MOST for everything you need for the bottom end rebuild, like pistons, rods, rings, bearings, etc, from the stealership even!) and a bit of re-wiring, a mount adapter, and your ready to get some pretty quick times.

Yes, you can do it. You will need to modify the front and passenger side engine mounts. My neon has a 89 2.2 block with a Neon head. I wouldn't do it again that way, I would just go with a 2.4 instead.

I have seen a pro rallye neon with a 2.5 turbo

pretty sure trans bolt pattern is the same...

how do u need to modify the passenger side mounts? I'm really intrested in this and what do u do for wiring? do u just use the neons wiring??? that'd be bad ass and i think we may have a nice amount of room more in the engine bay.

Wiring is 90% homebrew. Only kept part of the original harness for lights and horn, etc. Engine management is AEM Universal.

I think I have seen that car on the dot org before... VERY sexy build. If I remember right... that is a fire extinguisher for the intake manifold, right?!?

FMIC is a 4" core. Actually, the car runs very cool. It's a small block chevy radiator, cut about 1/3 off. It's very thick.

So its a 2.2 common block, right?

I been researching, and learnded about taping the block and head, and I prolly go with full megasquirt to run it.
I may go with a 2.0 head tho..

What did you do for:
gears..?
tranny?
oil pan?
distributer?( i dont see how you did yours)

and one area I havent heard any one touch on..how do the crank sensors work on each?

like I said its easier to use a 2.4, as you can use stock electronics, transmissions, among other things.
