he was running a stock 2 piece I believe, I don't think it was modded. My ported exhaust manifold and a stock head. That was the way it has been running. He hasn't run the tube header yet, which flows less volume than my ported manifolds lol. But it should run better anyway with it. The head is getting ported and slightly bigger valves put in. Jay and me are tag teaming an intake. I have done the porting and he has done the cutting. So we'll both have great plenum intakes. Jays car was the first known on the net to run a TBI cam, which he uses. His car was the second to use my PT lifter mod too. The new head gets the valve springs I use the sweet Comp Beehives. So the new engine will make a ton more power, but I don't think the mileage will go down unless he goes to a big cam. He should be able to hit 350 WHP with a S60 turbo and the TBI cam with the new engine easy and keep the mileage. My guess is he'll not like the S60 as I did with those mods, the S60 just spools way too fast and hurts traction. As of the last time it ran, Jay could reproduce the set up easy. As it was it was a full boost and shift at 3,000 RPM set up and still fast. I have bad luck with 2.5s, there all a turd

I sold the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, oil pan, and AC compressor on ebay. I still have all of the other parts. I have made my money back and then some already so the remaining parts like cylinder head should get me enough money to get a turbo with a .63A/R exhaust housing and a wide band 02 sensor.

Well, I bid to $225. on the head, didn't hit reserve I guess. I'd still pay you that plus $50 for the toothed Crank pulley. Let me know...

if u say getrag 284 in another crowd say GM?? that same named trans bolts to a GM 3800 v6 among other cars. i beleive the early model z24's had em also.

like the 86 87 models. i had an 87 z24 and man that thing screwed.

theres a guy around here somewhere with a new body style cavalier that he crammed a series 2 3800 SC into and he calls his trans a getrag 284 5 speed.

weird. prolly not the same exact thing but i bet the some guts/gears are similar.

im pretty sure the GM getrag is a 282 Getrag is is quite a bit different and ive seen the trans in the Lumina Z24 5spd DOHC cars. i think the 5spd Berettas also might have had it

Nah, the Masi electronics were just SMEC - same code and computer as the '89 T2, actually. Use Ladybug or Turbonator and call it good. No need to re-wire anything...
