you can build a completely badass motor for 3000... why would you want to buy a new stock one?

get a good dohc 2.4 out of a wrecked car.. i got mine for 200 bucks.. then you have ~2500 to build a hell of a forged badass.

stock srt motor is good and all but for 3 grand you can do a lot better

Sounds way high if you ask me. Most are bought for 1200-1600 depending on location.

I was under the impression that Chrysler did not sell whole SRT-4 engines. You can only buy the short block and then the head assembly seperately. That engine would probably be out of a new but wrecked vehicle. There are exceptions...I bought a pt cruiser 2.4 na engine from a school that Chrysler had donated them to for their auto program. There could be something like that out there for the turbo motors too...but for your question....you can get a brand new short block from Chrysler for around 950.00 if you look around(S&P Performance) not sure what a new head assy goes for now. Intake is 200.00 new, I've seen brand new exhaust manifolds for 49.99, but that doesn't matter if your planning an upgrade anyway, same with the turbo...I'm guessing if you assembled one your self with all new parts you could do it for around 2 - 2500.00. Then the question becomes, how much is your time worth??
