i have a 1985 omni glh turbo,im wanting to do the 2.4l dohc headswap and idk if it will just bolt on or not.i need to know if it will just bolt on or do i have to geta diff head,and a new motor isnt a option,i just need someone that knows what there talking about and wants to healp a lil glh.

What you would need to do is completely rebuild the engine to be able to use the 2.4l head. The reasoning for that is the pistons have to be changed to a 16v set if you keep it 2.2l, holes have to be plugged, and then new oil drain and feed lines have to be ran to the head. I am doing the build with a 2.5l and I am just taking my time. It is a very mechanically inclined build, and not for the faint hearted.

But if you want something a little easier, and wiring or engine management being the only thing that has to be worked on, then I would look at a 2.4l swap.

But there are a few threads that are stickies in the 16v conversion area that help show how to build a Hybrid engine.
