Do you have to run the head dowel on the corners of the block or can you run it in the middle?? I'd like to leave a head stud on the corners if possible.

you can always just drill the head to accept the studs from the block and not use dowels at all.

I thought about this, but the MLS gasket doesn't have the holes and I don't want to stamp the hole in the gaskets and distort them. I have both a MLS and a 8v gasket, but after listening to Russ, I think I'll use the MLS so I don't have any leaks. then again I am running a ported SOHC, but we will just have to see, I'd imagine the MLS gasket is the same.

This is all fine and informative, but for those of us who haven't dabbled in Neon headage yet, if anyone has pictures point to what needs to be drilled/machined/welded/tapped/whichever the method... that would be sexy. Just don't take your cars apart for our sakes
