or owns and likes them???

well......

I thought I was getting out of cars... but long story short.....

I can't get away from them.....

I was gonna buy a kid's 2002 wrx with a HKS turbo kit, perrin fuel rails, kaaz gearset, act clutch, UTEC tuner, blitz FMIC.... for $10K!!!!!!

but he crawfished and said he decided it was gonna be $15K ..... I said no way, because the car was riced out in some ways and I was gonna have to "fix it".....

well, that same day that deal fell through.....

my buddy got a pm from a friend of his....

This friend used to own WASABI racing.....

which was the fastest WRX in the world a year ago.... 10.47 at 138.50....

THE CAR WAS FOR SALE!!!!!!

the owner had been sabotaged by his employees and had to close his shop filling bankruptcy over the ordeal.... but he still owned the car....

This car has over $150K in parts and R AND D.....

The list is so long I can't even post it here right now.....

but let me start with some of the high points....

585 AWHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MOTEC M4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GT 35 R turbo

burns stainless headers

APS intercooler and 3.5 stainless mandrel exhaust from turbo back...

HKS 50mm wastegate

1000cc injectors

NOS system ..... single fogger....

aeromotive pump and regulator......

2.5L with JE's, Crower rods, billet crank.....

Titanium valves and retainers....

Holinger Dog box 5spd with Kaaz front and rear LSD diffs!!!!!! Exedy twin disc carbon/carbon clutch

Prodrive 17 x 17.5 with new BFG's for street

also, ROTA 15 x 6.5's with M & H racemaster slicks for all 4 corners ...

Cusco coilovers and mounts.....

Wilwood brakes with drilled and slotted rotors....

This is the "Zilla" race car in full form, not stripped out or toned down...

I am going to program the MOTEC for street trim with 93 octane.... and then a couple of different maps for race fuel and such.....

It has wideband already, so that is not a worry!!!!!

anyways, Let me just say that I got the deal of a lifetime on it, and I plan on making it faster still!!!!!!

I am still going to have my 'vert Lebaron turbo as my daily driver.....

I thought I was done with cars, but they aren't done with me yet!!!!!

addition.... I like WRX's as long as the drivetrain doesnt bust which is common. i was glad to see that was all beefed up.

TURBOFREAK your rex sounds insane, those cars can be made extremely fast. fast isnt everything.....the wrx is becoming too over-exposed, loosing its place as a cool car, IMO.

i had a wrx in 2001, didnt like it, but then again, it was stock....i was disappointed w/ the engine/power, fit and finish were great, but the car was really a pig, compared to a TD that is. i sold it after 6 months and 10,000 miles.

Don't pick on me man!!!!

haha!!!!

This car, mine (sounds cool), with it's last run down the dragstrip, which was only it's 5th time to run the dragstrip, is 3rd fastest in the U.S.... 10.47 at 138.50

It was a run with the clutch slipped out on it at 1/3 throttle with no boost off the line....

It is 14th in rank in the WORLD currently.....

But that may be about to change.....

Btw- do you know if that 8.9 is street legal, DRIVABLE, or just a race car only?? also, do you know if it is still AWD or been converted to RWD??

COOL!!!

When I was considering buying another new car I got to test drive these
-STI
-SRT4
-COBRA

When I test drove the STI. It came off the line hard then after that it felt like the Srt-4 on the highway. Yes it had good built quality and the boost came quickly thanks to 2.5 liter of displacement and a turbo that response well to it. Not a bad choose of car to own. I would of been more than happy with it.
