My pal is wanting to sell his 95 neon 5spd for 1500, but he'll sell it to me for 1200. It's really clean only 116xxx miles an intake and exhaust. I drove it today I little bit, didn't have any room to open it up but when I did get some room it picked up pretty good( still nothing to my CSX lol) but decent for a neon. He said it ran a 15.7 on street tires. Anyway, anyone here done a custom turbo setup for their or someone's neon or have any info on one. The only one's Ive seen are all kits and kit=too damn expensive for this puppy. Thx in advance for any and all info.

We're using the Hahn Racecraft port-fueler system on my brother's neon. It works great!

well I was thinking only 6psi till I did the internals. What size injectors do you think would be best?

If it's a dohc the srt-4 turbo/mani bolts right on.
If it's a sohc, 'mattdog' on neons.org sells an adapter so that you an use the srt-4 turbo on your sohc.

The stock cast crank will handle 350hp no problem. The rods and pistons are crap on either the sohc or dohc. You can get more than 350hp out of one, but I'm trying to factor in it being able to go 100,000 miles at least. On the sohc, get a magnum head or swap to dohc. A full race ported sohc will flow better than a stock magnum or dohc, but port those and they will blow the sohc head away in terms of flow. You can boost a stock motor, just don't take it past 230hp at the crank or you'll start to run into some internal problems. 8psi max. I'd run 6 myself and tune on the safe side and save the motor.

11psi for a while didn't have a problem once. Since I changed things around (fuel wise) I've brought it down to five (puny injectors). The things aren't THAT bad.

Well I got a neon but not the same one, I think I need new motor mounts. Anyway, with the list above and other member's imputs, Im gonna go with the SRT adapter, think I will need any engine management with it?

Go with much larger injectors then 21# please. If there is one thing you dont want to do, is ever think about being lean. Better to lose some hp keeping it safe then take stupid risks. I should know.

I realized I needed bigger injectors when I saw I table of what size injectors for what horsepower. All I really know is what do I need to control the fuel. I guess I can run it a little rich till I get it tuned.
