Is it really true that the DOHC Gaskets work on the SOHC? If so that is great news because 3SX makes the oversized piston gaskets for the DOHC car. I am going with the .125" oversized setup. This gives me 3.15L. Of course I am going to sonic test my block first for any issues with the casting.

i have also heard this is true. i could feesably see this as the mitsu 3000gt VR-4 shortblock that i have looks just like a SOHC engine... excet for a few things like where the oil filter mounts.

...if i had my shadow's 3.0 apart i'd go test fit the head gasket on that block to see, but i don't. but from a glance they look the same.

Frank, I just went shopping.

Im going with Cometic headgasket. Its 95mm and its only 70 bucks a piece unlike the 130 a piece 3sx ones. Importperformance.com
Also flatlander sells them??

I was asking this question on the boards over on 3si.org.

I was actually shopping for 6g74 and 6g75 headgaskets. They are not quite as thick as the stock headgasket, but I called mitsu and they are only 53 bucks a pop from the dealer.

Im going .096 over because that matches up to the biggest total seal rings I could find around that size.

Thanks all for the information. I may go with the 0.096" over pistons because Total Seal is good. This will be good because I need the oversized gasket for this setup like you. Left you all feedback. Thanks!

Ed over at total seal has been very good to me.

Ive got a quote # for my specific rings your could ask him about.

Looks like I am going Cometic .054 thick. I told Venolia last night that would be my gasket thickness when they called me confirming some information.

Im a bit scared of trying the 6g74-6g75 gaskets, and the cometics are not much more expensive then the big bore mitsu stockers.

Have any of you bothered to try contacting ROL? They make very good headgaskets that are very well spoke of by anyone I spoke with running them on turbo Fords.
