Ive heard of ppl swapping the 2.4 DOHC from the breeze or intrepid into their neons. Anyone find a place that has a walkthrough, I couldnt find anything that helped much, maybe I just dont google very well lol. Thx for any help.

If you have ALOT of time on your hands, It was covered in an old mopar action or mopar now magazine. You may be able to access older issues through their website. Failing that, honestly, I'd join neons.org and re-ask the question. That's not really this site's strong point so try a better source. Good luck, I hear the 2.4l engine in the 2300 pound neon is super fun.

There's nothing there? Huh? Click on "forums" then click on "engine swaps". Wait, here's the direct link. There's a ton of info there.

Oh yeah, that's confusing. You don't have to join Neons.org to join the forum, though. That one had me for a while too...

My friend might sell me his IHIR5(that right) aka ford probe/MX-6 turbo. Fuel regulator and bigger injectors and right gauges and IC I could run 4-5psi right?

The swap is almost striaght forward if you car is a DOHC to begin with. Basically its a new front mount and the other two modified and you injector wiring and coil wiring repinned at the pcm and a set of 24lbs injectors to get it to run. Then its a matter of fine tuning it with a SAFC. You'll have to do a search on neons.org cause some of the guys there can be arrogant when people ask this question.

that's a direct link to the engine swap forum. i know quite a few people have pulled this off and from what i've heard, (like mentioned above) it isn't too hard. but i'd say just get the srt-4 setup and swap that in!

Couple of my thoughts on this:

2.4 N/A is common --> used in the cloud cars, minis and the PT so good running motor should be cheap

Fuel economy should be great in a neon as my brother gets 28 MPG in his 98 Stratus w/2.4

Gen 1 Neon weighs less (200-300 lbs) than the Gen 2 Neon

Gen 1 Neons are cheap

Gen 1 Neons are available with 2 doors!

The additonal 20 lb/ft of torque would make a FUN and reliable daily driver
