well i kind of wanted to be cheap. ill grab a manifold from a metro motor and see if it bolts up and go from there. fueling it will be quite easier since its multi port. heh this thing orta be quite a blast. i wonder if any gti suspension parts might swap over.

If the exhaust manifold is the same, you could pick up an upgrade turbo and custom made manifold from www.turbinetech.ca

Not sure about suspension parts. It would be cool if they do fit.

As for a manifold, the only one that might possibly fit is one from the 86-88 Chevy Sprint Turbo. The manifold is different on the 89-91 G10 Turbo.

It would make for a fun car. Especially AWD.

would make a neat little corner carver if they fit....... ill have a look at some mertos and swifts and do come comparisons. another thing it has tiny brakes. i wonder if the vented rotors might go on?

i wonder if i could make a manifold like you did? cut off the flange and weld on a flange and stick a t25 or an rhb5 on there. man this is getting cooler and cooler the more i think about it. so the heads are different after 88?

this is gonna be fun. imagine 150 horsepower 1900 pounds and 4 wheel drive.

Yes, the heads are different after 88.

To make my manifold, I used a piece of 3/8" thick flat stock steel for the flange and traced the manifold gasket on it and cut it out. I used 1-1/4" schedule 40 weldable pipe for the manifold runners. 1 elbow and 2 tees. The last tee I welded on a flange for the turbo. It is a simple log design that does the job well.

As for the brakes, my Metro originally had non-vented rotors with tiny 10mm lug studs and 12" wheels. I converted to larger vented rotors, 12mm studs and 13" wheels from a 95 and newer Metro/Swift. The same brakes were also found on 89-93 Metro convertibles.

The Merc one is essentially an Eaton M90, and might be a little large, unless you can find an underdrive pulley. An M62 from a GM might be a better choice, at least you have plenty of options as far as pullies go there.

Those little Aisin SCs are awesome little units, a guy I know is working on adapting a PAIR of the larger versions to run a 93 Escort GT with. It'll be weird!
