so go ahead ruin a perfectly good and rare car.......

The hyundai 4GCS block will fit in. Magnus motor uses the block in the motor it calls LONG ROD 2.4L. The extra 6mm of deck height give a better rod ratio.
The first gen DSM's (93 and 94) came with 7 bolt motors. There are only 4 bolt and 3 bolt rears, no 8 bolts. Transfer case is identical. The Galant VR4 actually has a weaker trans than the same year 1Gs
I am installing a stroker crank into the 4g63 motor for more useable torque on the street with a big honkin' turbo.
The motor is not orginal anyways since the car is 4th owner and 180K. What ever I do to this motor could be fixed by a buying a JDM motor for about 1K, but I would rather install forged pistons, stroker crank and rods good for 600HP.
I was curious if the SRT4 motor could be made to fit to get a reliable 2.4l and then I found out the right method. My reseach led me to the hyundai, but I am just stroking my 2.0 instead of swapping.
I am not worried about being flamed, just you are off on your DSM facts.
