There are certain states that have more of certain vehicles than other states. And from several forums...i've seen that California has the most of the rare japanese models imported.

They are getting more rare every year.
Only about 3-4 thousand were ever built between 91-92.

I have seen one galant vr4 in person and several more for sale in rather poor shape that didnt sell for a long time in this area. That alot more than the mumber of shelby chargers, etc that i have seen (at least ones still being used)

no your wrong.......... EVERYONE BUILDS THE FIRST GEN MOTORS...... and how do you know that the hyundai block will even work? i know the crank fits in a 4g63 but id go with that block cause i dunno if the motor mounts on the hyundai are the same and if im not mistaken the engine is on the opposite side of the car... no one wants the second gen ones due to crank walk..... my buddie had crank walk in 2 motors that ruined the crank and block both times before he finally got a first gen 90 motor........ that was a 95 car....... 90-94 are fine motors to build.......only 95 and up had crank walk problems....... so go ahead ruin a perfectly good and rare car....... oh well ill find me one...... the motor in the car im looking at is from a 90 model front drive talon turbo so yes it is a 6 bolt crank...... there is no crank walk issues with this motor..... the original one was run dry on oil by the careless owner who cracked the oil pan is why it was replaced... and the rear end is an 8 bolt from a newer model talon and a transfer case adapted from a jdm vr4 which is MUCH stronger..... i would like to have it and plan to buy it but would rather have a vr4..... not trying to flame just dont want you to build something thats gonna go south....

The hyundai 4GCS block will fit in. Magnus motor uses the block in the motor it calls LONG ROD 2.4L. The extra 6mm of deck height give a better rod ratio.

The first gen DSM's (93 and 94) came with 7 bolt motors. There are only 4 bolt and 3 bolt rears, no 8 bolts. Transfer case is identical. The Galant VR4 actually has a weaker trans than the same year 1Gs

I am installing a stroker crank into the 4g63 motor for more useable torque on the street with a big honkin' turbo.

The motor is not orginal anyways since the car is 4th owner and 180K. What ever I do to this motor could be fixed by a buying a JDM motor for about 1K, but I would rather install forged pistons, stroker crank and rods good for 600HP.

I was curious if the SRT4 motor could be made to fit to get a reliable 2.4l and then I found out the right method. My reseach led me to the hyundai, but I am just stroking my 2.0 instead of swapping.

I am not worried about being flamed, just you are off on your DSM facts.
