What's crack'n peeps. Ok, so i have an 89' daytona Turbo ES and i was wondering if it was possable to move the turbo from underneath the intake manifold to somewhere were it's more visable. Or in doing so, will i loose performance...

Thanks,

Chris

Ok, like i said... MORE VISABLE... that's all... VISABLE... so when you pop the hood, you can see the not-so-slow snail! That's it.

Thanks,

Chris

P.S. Thats' what kind of question that is.

You should mount it on top of the hood so that you don't have to pop the hood for people to see it.

Now that's funny...ROFL. Really though, having it more accessible would be nice, not to mention taking all that heat away from the intake.

Make a custom manifold. Something like you'd see on a FWD drag car.

I just don;t understand. If you don;t like the factory layout, go with a differnt manufactuer. The turbo can be relocated, and if you had an ounce of car knowledge you woudl probably know that, but is it worth it? Probably not. Can it be done yes. But why? So you can show off the turbo when your parked in mcdonalds parking lot after work? If thats the case, it woudl be easier and cheaper to take an empty turbo housing, polish it up and plumb it up fake to look real..I mean come on..

Ok I am done ranting now.

Ok, so I'm all for doing whatever you want to do. Moving the turbo would have an interesting affect on intake temperatures. I think making an exhaust manifold for that would be a crazy endeavor though.

On what DKKNE said, I for one would love to see someone take a turbo and make a lost-wax casting in plastic or ceramic. You could put foam in it and make it an air filter! Talk about hilariously crazy....of course I don't actually recommend all this.

And hey, we TD people are all about speed, right? So, I say leave the turbo where it is, be proud to kill a ricer when they think they are lining up against a carb car, and realize that factory placement weighs less than any other setup you could probably fab up.

how about zip tie a turbo to your roof? Seriously go with a long tube header that will place it next to your battery
