Sounds like a great plan! Quite frankly thats the best twist on a motor swap! I saw a Cuda with a Viper V-10 at the NY autoshow and that was great. The Supra motor is more exotic and lets face it, how many Cudas with that swap will you come across in your lifetime? Crazy power and the down right good looks of american muscle.
How much did that motor run you?

Yeah at the Barret Jackson auction there were like 4-6 cars that had Viper V10s.

I just built a 435 WHP, 570 ft lb 440 with H beam rods and Quench dome pistons for $1,400. That is enough to run over 120 MPH in the 11s with bad traction with an E body. How much is that going to cost with a Toy engine? Not to mention that you'll completely rip the thing appart and start over to make it live with big boost. Then have to buy all the custom turbo parts. Money spent on the same build with even a 318 and the Toy engine would get killed. I suppose drowning in cash and being completely bored with tons of extra time on your hands why not right?

The 2jz engine can be built for cheap if you make the parts yourself or just don't go crazy. The stock log exhaust manifold is good till about 650wheel. Adapt on a hx40 holset, Mishumoto IC and fab up some IC pipe.

Nice...the only reason I love it is to piss off purists A car's a car..if you got the parts lying around, why not try and do something wacky?

I know you're a smart guy, I've read your posts. However, you obviously know nothing about 2Jz motors. The stock motor with stock turbos will make 500whp at 18 psi with minor mods. The stock bottom end has been proven to 900+whp. What kind of 110 Octane leaded gas mileage do you get? I had it shipped to my door (engine, tranny,ECU and wiring harness) for $2100. The stock automatic is good to 500whp for some period of time. I'm told it will start to destroy the torque converter after a while though. A B&M is $400 which is probably about the same price as the convertor in your done-a-million-times hillbilly hotrod.

I think its interesting. I've always liked inline 6's, nomatter who made em. What year Cuda? I'm guessing its not a 71 style as that would just kill value. Guessing one of the mid 60s uglyback ones like my dad used to have?

Good luck w/ the project. My 2JZGTE (i have a Supra though.. hehe) has given me absolutely no problems and has performed flawlessly. Made 640rwhp w/ basic bolt-ons and 25psi on a rather "small" single. Keep us updated!!!

So..... by having a 2JZ motor in there, the motor would sit further back which would more evenly distribute weight, reduce weight when compared with a 340 or 360 which was mentioned earlier, and be more reliable? Hmmmm..... and on a motor whose bottom end can and has supported 700hp in stock form? Yeah, what a waste.
