No, I don't own a TD, I think MOPAR builds worthless crap.... but I wrench on them ALL DAY LONG, i'm only here to make fun of ondonti (local idiot).

I do however own two Mopars, a 97 Sebring Convertible and a 95 Lebaron convertible. My relatives enjoy driving convertibles when they visit my house. I have personally driven them less than 20 miles in three years.

I own a Turbo honda and a pair of shitsubishis though, does that make you feel better?

How well would a toyota tranny hang with a heavy assed muscle car. I mean, they can handle a lot of power, but can they do it on a 5000 lb car?

well its a waste is all i am saying do what you want . as far as the internal strength of the parts lets compare apples to apples how many horse power were toyotas na motors rated at 30 years ago cause i know the stock bottom end of a 440 will hold up to around 600 hp if you wanna talk about late model motors like yours well i am sure the bottom end of a viper motor will hold up to 800 horse +. but since yours is a crate motor lets look at the crate hemi i know those will hold who knows how much so if you wanna bash mopar because they arent as good as your toyota you need to figure out a better excuse .

Cudas weighed in just over 4200 pounds, and with no interior like he's describing it'll probably be a little less, maybe even under 4000 pounds depending on how much the new drivetrain weighs. The mark 4 supra weighs in just under 3800 pounds IIRC, that's not a whole lot of difference.

It definately sounds like an interesting swap for sure. It's not for me and I certainly wouldn't do it to my own car, but it's his car and he's all for it. Who cares?

Cletus,

That's true, that isn't a whole lot different. Which is funny, because physically, a cuda looks like 2x the car of a supra.

Toyota transmissions are their weak link. Although the stock transmission is strong enough to power the big Cuda, the GM TH400 & TH350 are the way to go.

For those of you who are wondering if I own a Turbo dodge.... the answer is NO. I owned two previously, but never cared for them, sold one and donated one to charity.

My background of Mopar and Mopar related vehicles includes: 69 Coronet, 3 on the tree slant-6 Dart, numerous Lebarons, the Sebring, an aries, a 97 Dakota, Ram50, 3 1G DSMs (2 turbo), 2 2G DSMs (both non-turbo), a 4G63 Galant, Mercedes S500, 500SEL, 560SEL, and 2 190Es, all the Mercedes' were pre-mopar but nonetheless, mopar still bought out Mercedes later on down the road. I've owned more Mopar & Mopar affiliated cars than most people on here (obviously I buy/sell cars), if you gotta problem with what I type, don't read it.
