Several honda's are running around boosted with stock fuel systems! The quickest being a low 13 second CRX, when he first boosted it it was running 10psi and gettin cutout at 6500 rpm. Another guy I know ran 8psi on his del sol and didnt get cutout? Why are honda's so special?

they have to blind the map sensor just like we do. I have no idea why he can run 10psi, probably has a rising rate regulator. 6-8psi is normally the max for a stock honda fuel system. If you change the chip out then pretty much anything is fair game, just like ours.

Yes, there is a thing called "missing link" which they install in their system. Never really knew what it meant when I saw people mention it until I read a few threads.

www.honda-tech.com to see other "special" cars.

well I dont now about messing with the map sensor, but their fuel is all stock. The CRX got his tuned so he's not getting any cutout at all. We all go to te same guy to get our cars chipped, and he does a good job.

Honda's are not special. There is no magic going on.

What exactly do you mean by "stock fuel system" and why is that "special"?

Whats so special about that? That just means the stock hardware is capable of putting out more fuel than it needs stock.

TD's are no different. You can add 100hp to a TD with the same exact fuel system.

So like I said, where is the special part?

Some cars are overbuilt, others are right at their limit from the factory. This applies to ALL components.

I have an accord that was boosted and have helped several friends boost their hondas. Its very easy to boost a d series honda for under $500 with stangalone engine management. running 10psi on the stock 240cc injectors is just plain stupid and your buddy is more than likely maxing out the stock injectors. Unless if he's running a little baby rhb5 but even then that is pushing it. Hondas have several free fuel management programs, uberdata for obd1, crome for obd1, and turbo edit for obd0 cars. All you simply do is chip the ecu and download the program. you buy a burner or have someone else do it and tune with that software. Fmu's are pointless in the honda world now based on the very good and cheap ecu management options, same with check valves in the map sensor lines, just like on turbo dodges the map sensor is only good up to a certain psi with hondas its in the 10 to 11 psi range, most guys run under 10psi on stock engine so they are good to go, but like td's they also like to upgrade to the gm map. I had one friend running 16lbs of boost on a stock b16 with dsm 450cc injectors street tuned on uberdata ran strong for close to a year, only took it out cause he was building the engine to take more boost
