Well I have been thinking of swapping in a V8, but then it struck me. What about fabricating a butt turbo kit for the V6 and turboing it? I have some spare TD turbos and I can fabricate piping and mount one under the truck. How hard can this be?? Friom what I understand, they only run 7 psi on these kits with no fuel management necessary. Now if I were to do this and maybe add some extra fuel, will this work?? If so I can make the set up, then swap in a bigger turbo after I get it up and running. What do you guys think?? I also have a friend selling a butt turbo kit he bought for his Chebby, they sent him 2 and only charged him for one.

umm thats obvious. Larger injectors would fix that.

Your first post says "no fuel management needed"

Larger injectors would do nothing except make your car run like crap

all those systems use rising rate regulators. Then if you need more fuel injector, you get big injectors, get an adjustable base rate, use low base rate pressure, then let the rising rate regulator ramp up fuel pressure to make up for your boost.

STS sucks btw. They are 10 minutes from my house. My 4 door n/a Spirit is faster then their toyota tacomas. Ive raced one at the track.

much easier to buy a supercharger kit for a 5.2, the easiet thing to do is trade for Dakota RT or get a 4.7 with a 5sp. The 4.7 is quicker and gets better MPG.

I have a 4.7 in my wifes Durango and it is peppy, but nowhere near as powerful as our old 360 Durango. That one I could boil the tires like nothing. The 4.7 is fast but not overly powerful. My other concern of the 4.7 if I were to put that in my Dak is upgrades availability. There arent too many mods on the 4.7 like with the 318 and 360. I also will be keeping it auto.

okay, so now you just want to do a v8 swap?

Im confused. It really would not be very difficult to run a turbo setup using the fueling process I mentioned. v6 fuel economy, v10 power

Ya I need the manifolds though
They could be very expensive, moreso than a V8 swap. But I would love to turbo what I got though.

You could probably figure out a fairly cheap way to modify the stockers. Do you have any pictures of them?

No but I could take some tomorrow. I suppose they are real close to the 318 manifolds.I would rather turbo it but we will see.

How would you go about running the pipe to the intake?

I couldnt find any good pictures on the internet.
If all else fails, what you can do is reroute the exhaust back into the engine bay where you have room (move the battery) then put the turbo there, and then route the exhaust back out. This can be done and prevents you from having to deal with expensive oil scavenger pumps which always fail on a remote mount car.

In this case I would use a single turbo and buy a larger "Ebay special" turbo for cheap like I got.

So yuo are saying do 1 single exhaust? Or twins? But once again, how do I tie into the intake?
