I dont think your friend knows as much as he should, considering the ammount of broken turbo dodges in his wake.

Cool another Turbo Dodge guy in town!!

itoktoeatfish: ScottD on here got me the Info on the Prodution numbers for the 92 Spirits. I don't think they gave a brake down for auto and 5-speeds.
The only year I know of with a brake down like that is the 91's

I think I have the only 5 sp. lol. Bought the car in mint condition (engine, turbo, interior) with a deer and car accident on the exterior (one trip to u pull it and I have all the body panels, and bought a new windshield... I love manual transmitions, never owned an automatic after 8 cars.. but im scared, what happens if/when I break my tranny? I will have a hard time finding a junkyard t1 tranny, theres over 20 turbo dodges just at one of the junkyards and there all autos lol...

I wonder if that is a 568 or a 523 transmission. The 523's are easy to find, the 568's much more difficult.

The 568 has a 4-pinion differential, but other than that, I don't see the superior strength gains in it. Do we know of many 523's that have grenaded?

start with a good intercooler and put a '91+ 523 or 568 5spd in it.

after that a T2 turbo or bigger would be a good idea!!
