What do you want to know the are pretty rare I believe they were only imported for two years I have a friend who him and his brother each had one If I could find one for a good price I would pick one up to go along with the EVO.

Just wondering if anybody has had or drove one. They seem like they would be a great sleeper like a Spirit R/T. Also I wanted to know if you could use the same mods that are use on the DMS of the same year.

It has the 4G63 2.0 turbo engine just like the 1st gen DSMs! It will except all the same engine mods!

^vntned is correct IIRC it has pretty much the 1G DSM AWD drivetrain, but adding the rear steering

no surprise since the DSMs were built off a modified galant platform (IIRC - it's been a few years)

There is a kid locally here who autocrosses his. Its pretty fast! Its the only one I have ever seen. My buddy raced him in his CSX, but the galant had him on a holeshot(obvioulsy AWD).

All the turbo models are awd only. The galant vr-4 has different gearing then the dsm variants however they are still interchangable.

they make (made) galant FWD but no turbo; of course since its almost exactly DSM stuff it would be easy to make your own FWD turbo galant

but if you want factory turbo galant the only choice is the VR4

great car...

The Galant VR-4, as previously stated above, is almost identical to the 1g DSM's when it comes to engine and drivetrain. The only difference in the drivetrain is that it has 4 bolt hubs instead of 5 like a DSM (4 lugnuts instead of 5). Identical Engine to the 1g DSM. First gear is a little taller in the GVR4's then in the DSMs. A lot of people opt to remove the Four Wheel Steering, I'm not sure why, but they do. They do make very nice sleepers, I've seen a few locally that looked pretty clean. I do believe that the ECU's are the same as the 90 DSM's.

There was also a Galant GSX which came w/o the four wheel steering but was still AWD and Turbo.

Hope this helps,
Danny
