Is there such a thing as a turbo 2.5 Probe? I know Probes came with turbos but Isn't the 2.5 a V6? Forgive my Ford ignorace but I thought the turbo motor was a 2.0 or 2.2L four cylinder, and I didn't think they came with 2.5 four cylinders. The reason I ask is because I saw a probe today with home made decals that said 2.5 turbo.

Well, if it was a home-made decal, it could be a home made 2.5 turbo.... just like our 3.0's

Ludespeed was the first place I seen offer a turbo kit for the probe gt. I owned a 93 gt 5 speed and it pulled hard in 3rd gear for what it was. It was no speed king, but I did run 10.08 in the 1/8 mile bone stock with a 2.2 60 ft. I could see them having a lot of potential though. I don't know the flow numbers on the heads, but I have to think the really flow.

The Probe did come with a turbo from the factory. It was a 2.2L 4cyl 12Valve intercooled and was offered 1989 thru 1992. It's twin the MX-6 had the same motor and was offered 88-92. It was a mass air set up with the crappy mazda swing door mass air meter, with a IHI turbo. In 93 they changed the body style, droped the turbo and the base 4cyl was a 2.0l and the GT's now had the 2.5L v-6. Check out http://www.mx6.com or http://www.probetalk.com . I have owned a 88 MX6 gt for about 10yrs (still have it) and finally gave in and bought a Turbo Dodge. You just can't do as much with those cars for the same money as you can with the td.
