I have a 2.5 and start getting boost ~2,300rpm and 14lbs by 4k. You wont have problems spooling a garret with the 2.5. I have not gone over 15lbs of boost yet, will get a cal soon lets see what I will break...

^^ Damn!

lol back on topic

A garrett with a pretty stock setup will be more then enough, no need for the holset until you have power to really make it worth the time of fabing it on

The mitsu is a good turbo(screw those who say it isn't). But when you are going for more, it can't proved anything like a garrett.
This should be easy to understand
Mitsu = Short winded
Garrett = Long winded

It's all about which can talk(spool) a good amount of air without biting(restricting) its tongue.

My first list of things to get(if I could do something's over again)

1. Wideband Air/Fuel Meter ~ Not the little gauge with bouncing lights that doesn't tell you crap, a real in touch with the exhaust gases all the time tuning tool. Also these gauge's... Boost, Oil Pressure, Water Tempature.

2. Intercooler ~ Like Turbo-Baron said if you want a rad/ic setup lmk, im willing to part with mine, even have the hoses ~ just not the airbox cause of the Turbo XS RFL BOV

3. Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator and Pressure Gauge. This will help for my next suggestion...

4. Boost Controller. Any kind ~ G-valve, eBay any kind will pretty much work or has worked

5. Turbo-back exhaust. 2.5" for a mitsu, 3" for a garrett along with matching swingvalve, hi flow cat(if required in your state) and a free flowing, non-ricey muffler(i will make fun of you if you get a bumble bee/coffee can one)
--- A ported exhaust manifold will help lower spool up time, rather worthless on a mitsu, but great for a garrett.

Want more?

6. Custom calibrated computer ~ and all it's required items

7. Ported and big valve head

8. Ported Intake ~ matched to head ~ opened up for 52mm throttle body

9. New PolyBushing.com motor and transmission mounts

I really could keep going but won't(for now)

Oh my god, why are you too far from me, i wish i had someone close by who was this good about this cars. Ok i need I/C for sure because when the weather is hot sometimes when i accelerate the turbo instead of going up, the gauge drops down towards vacuum not boost. Is your I/C gonna work on a Shadow rad because mine was broken so had to switch it. Could you pm me the price with everything i need and with shipping to Vancouver. Is the first gauge you said is making any difference, can i use my stock gauges instead? To be honest i dont really know what the hell G-Valve is i've heard it many times but dont know anything about it. The car has 200,000 km even on engine so when i want to rebuilt it i'll put garret on it. Thanks a lot.
