The compressor wheel does not measure like a WH1C, your 100% sure friend is wrong. His turbo is a hybrid. It used to be an H1C by the looks of it, but it has been modified extensively. First off it has the 14cm turbine housing, stock is 12cm. And second the compressor wheel sounds completely aftermarket, nothing stock has the sizes he measured.

WH1C exhaust at least on the dodges were 18 or 21 cm. Hx35 has a 12.

Incorrect. The ''W'' stands for ''wastegated''. H1C's have the 18 and 21cm nonwastegated housing in 88-93. In 94 however the H1C received a 12cm wastegated housing, which in turn yielded the name WH1C.
The real name for the HX35 is HX35W, everyone just drops the W.

no, 95'. Even some early build 95's got the leftover WH1C's, gotta watch for that. The HX35W is a superior built turbo. My Wh1C on my 94' didn't last very long at all once I turned the boost past 25 PSI. The HX35 I put on I was boosting to 38 PSI no problem.
