Doing some much needed maintenance to the new "Rat Rod" and wanted to know if the Walbro 255 or 190 that is intended for the Dodge Neon or the SRT-4 will fit my car? Also, is the 255 overkill for our cars as far as gas mileage as I remember upgrading my 1G MX6 Turbo with a 190lph fuel pump so that received plenty of fuel but didn't kill my gas mileage. Any thoughts on these questions would help but especially the compatibility with the Neon question as I haven't been able to get a definite answer.

(Am I also correct to assume that the stock pump is 160lph?)

Unless you are running high boost w/larger injectors, stick with a stock unit..

I used Bosch when I switched the pump out of my 90 Shadow TI...pretty straightforward

This is good advice but I actually do plan on running moderate boost with a pressure switch and SAAB cold start injectors with an MBC in the near future as I get closer to a good baseline tune. My thing is that I don't find any 88-89 applications for the 2.5 Turbo and wanted to know if I can use the 90+ part as just physically swapping the fuel pump is not the issue........I just want to have wiggle space when I do start to turn the boost up some.
Thx

There is both a 190 and a 255 made for our cars.

It is usually listed as 80's FWD mopar if your are looking through a parts store ect.

Made by Walbro, Holley, and an Edelbrock unit. I believe all all the same pump, but labeled under different names.

Checkout these sites, they will have what you are looking for.

As for overkill, having the ability to supply more fuel is alot better then the chance of going lean IMO. Fuel pump is easier to replace then a piston(detonation). 14-15psi is the upper limit of what should be run on stock fuel system(Intercooled of course)

I believe the 190 can be ran at stock fuel pressure without running rich, not sure on the 255.

Hope this helps.

its not going to run rich unless your return line is making the pressure rise, due to not using that volume of fuel and not being able to return it to the tank.

I would just get a 255(high pressure) and be done with it, you'll have no worries and price should be the same
