info on 89 Shelby Daytona

I found a 89 shelby daytona on craigslist.

as follows:

needs motor
would be a great parts car
Body in good shape
leather seats
all electric
body in good condition
T-tops
4 cly.turbo
5 speed trans
No Title

my question is would this be the 555 trans if it's factory still?
and i'm guessing it would be a 2.2 T2?
guy is asking $450 although I'm sure I could pick it up much cheaper.
I'll try and get some pictures of it when I go and take a look.

I guess wikipedia just answered my questions.
the 89 shelby Z is a TII and the 555 Transmission and rear disk brakes

Its well worth the $ in parts but Id check for severe rust on the underbody and in the drivers wheel well area near the shock tower if your planning to try to get a title for it.
The 89 has the 555 with the upgraded four pinion diff, It has the t II common block engine with roller cam ,forged steel crank, t II turbo with 2.5 inch swingvalve, intercooler, and in the suspension area you have the dual pivot k frame, big sway bar, 11 inch front rotors with vented rear discs and those 16" pumper rims, well worth the money just in parts alone.

A T1 5 speed was available. Verify it has factory intercooling. Then you will know it is the T2.

Correct ... and not all '89 a555's had four pin diff's either. Most didn't from what I know.

Can't you tell if it's a 4-pin diff. based on the FD ratio of the trans? I could be completely off my rocker though.

Also, I read on some website there was a 2.2 T1 listed in 89. It was low production, only maybe 10% of the T1 cars. I have no way to confirm this or to know if it was an order option on the Shelby. Just wanted to throw it out as a maybe.
