ok let me start off by saying ive been a TD member for a while, unactive for most of it due to lack of funds, and i gave my project an undeserved early demise.
But, now with finances in better order, and room for a new project, im ready to tackle a new one. Ive mainly been into the V6 scene, and dont know much about 2.2s or 2.5s, BUT i always wanted to have an omni, and this caught my eye. Ill post the add 1st, then my questions after....
86 horizon/omni
2.5 fuel injected turbo
carol shelby interior
glh body kit
auto trans
car has 56k miles
all new gaskets in motor
garrett t2 turbo
many many parts
5 lug conversion
rust free
all parts for 5spd conversion
very clean car is in great shape with all new high pressure gas lines.all of the conversion is complete except for the wiring. have both harnesses all you have to do is convert the two. car is a project not far from running and all is there but just needs a little more work many any parts almost enough to build two lost time due to job change
not asking a mint $900 obo
^^thats the add^^
My questions....
isnt a t2 turbo real small? if so, it would only support like 200hp, right?
i read that the 2.5's only have 150hp and like 180ft. lbs tq. im assuming this car would run 15's stock. i prolly dont sound like i know wtf im talking about, because i dont.
heres my goal. Mid 13s, reliably, spending $1,000 not inc. car.
do-able?
also, the 2.5s are externally balanced, unlike the 2.2's.... correct? ive always heard 'no replacement for displacement', but, whats a better starting pad? the 2.2 or the 2.5?
Any help regaurding anything at all would be nice. Im very ignorant to this subject and will mostly rely on this website for support. lol. i have the mechanical/electrical skills, just lack the dodge knowhow. im still young. lol.
