Anyone put a 2.2/2.5 turbo in a non td vehicle?

A friend of mine has an 89ish Daihatsu Charade 2 dr. It weighs about 1500-1800 lbs stock. I have seen one on a website that was fully gutted and claimed a 1300 lb weight, so 1500 with driver. I also found a cardomain page with a b22 converted Charade. Isn't that a 2.2 ltr.? A 2.2 ltr TD motor would be like a big block in that car. The et calculators say a car that light with around 350 HP should rock a low 10 or high 9 second et. If you can get it to the ground. IDK, Grassroots challenge anyone?

I've seen the after pictures of VW's with TD motors in them. There was a Jetta and a Rabbit. I tried to convince a friend to put a 2.5 TD motor into his Scirocco. He wouldn't do it though. That would have been a badass car at 1700 lbs.
