Hello, Im looking for some advice on putting a single h1c on a 355ci v8. Anyone have any input. Everyone here seems to have usefull advice, any help thanks. I'm looking to have 5psi to no more than 10 on my motor, and a redline of 6000rpm. Thanks for your time Adam.

I have a buddy that has an h1c on his ford 2.3 turbo merkur. Took a ride earlier. It pulls

He needs to get it tuned though. Breaking up on the top end. Hes running about 22 psi but cant get the motor to turn enough to take advantage. Spool-lift-shift spool-lift-shift, etc.

an H1-C might be too small for a V8. it would be fine if you ran only 1 side of cylenders to it, but running all 8 to it, deffinatly too small. i hav a turbo off a 14.6L diesel logging truck.... it will be great some day for a big block on all 8 cylenders!

Depends on what H1C he has. The H1c is basically the older version of the HX35. However, H1C's have either 18.5 or 21cm turbine housings, non-wastegated, HX35's have a wastegated 12cm housing.
So the H1C may be OK for what he's doing.
If he has a 1994 H1Cw though it will be wastegated with a 12cm housing. But 88-93 H1c's will have a 18.5 or 21 non-WG'd housing.

If it will do 20 psi on a5.9 or more at 3000 rpm why only 2 on the same motor size at no more than 10 psi before 6000 rpm?

No need to upgrade the compressor wheel, it flows well.

I've run 30 PSI on the original WH1C in my ram, and 38 PSI on the HX35W I replaced it with.

So 10psi on v8 at no more than 6000 rpm should not be unrealistic? Thanks

Which turbine does it have? The 18 or 21?

I still don't think you'll have a problem anyway, the cummins may only turn 3000 RPM but it's probably flowing more air through the engine at that 3000 RPM than your 355 V8 will at 6000 RPM.
