Best I can tell (I'm no Mitsubishi expert), the Turbo came with a 4g61T 1.6L (correcting my previous assumption) and the Vista was a 4g36 2.0L. Just a guess though. Here's a link that lists some Mitsu engine codes. Mitsubishi Engine Codes

Oh and to the one that said I dont think he knows about our cars....... referring to the daytonas. I owned several daytonas and lasers. all turbos. My first was a 86 laser turbo. My last was an 88 daytona shelby........ fully loaded. came directly off the line in illinois. my uncle worked at the plant and drove it out of the building...........i picked it up there.

Ive also had the Starions and the Conquest. Plus the Eclipse, Talon and the Newer Laser..... all turbo models. And ofcourse Ive had the 1991 Twin Turbo stealth.......that baby was FAST, lol

But i had a 1984 Colt right before i went into the USMC. I miss that car. Always laughed at until that little turbo whooped up on them, lol SOOOOooooooo Here i am looking for another one. I have 3, but i want more before they rust into the ground or get crunched at the bone yard.

thanks all
jeff

Obviously he doesn't know about our cars.

Fair enough. There is one here in Richmond and there is one in Petersburg about 30 minutes south. Chesterfield Auto Parts and Circle Auto Recycling. They're owned by the same people. $1 gets you in the door. Just in case you do find yourself in Virginia.
haha mmm sounds like an add i posted for da MEAN BEAN

I know this isn't a Dodge question really? (Considering their mainly mitsubishi products). But, Do any of you older Colt guys know if the 4g63T bolts up to that 8 speed tranny? That would be ALMOST as cool as a T2 GLH.

As far as I know I own the fastest 84 Colt (fwd at least). 4g63 swap all stock mitsu parts except for 50trim, clutch and SAFC. 11.017@125. It's my pizza delivery car.
It is not an easy swap. cutting , welding, rewiring etc.
