anyone else here have a non TD turbo project car? i have a '91 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme sedan. i've had it a little over 4 years now and it was a pretty boring car when i bought it. it used to have a 4T60 automatic overdrive transmission but i swapped in a Getrag 282 5-speed from a '90 Grand Prix in the summer of '02. it's also lowered with TDC adjustable coilovers (rear), Eibach lowering springs (front), KYB struts, 7/8" Addco rear sway bar, 16x8 GTP crosslace wheels, big rear disc upgrade, currently in the middle of a big front disc upgrade, i added heads up display, and a few other things like leather bucket seats and a center console (can't have a bench seat with a 5-speed ). right now i still have the NA 3.1 MPFI V6 in the car with 220,000 miles and it's running great. i have a 3.1 Intercooled Turbo motor from a '90 Grand Prix Turbo STE sitting on the engine stand in my garage awaiting a rebuild. it uses a dinky little Garrett T25 turbocharger but i'd like to fab up a custom crossover with a T3 flange and a custom downpipe so i can use a turbo that is more 'suited' to a 3.1 V6. hopefully it will be able to run with my GTS someday!

would like to hear what some of you other TD members have out there...
thanks

I have an 87 Buick Grand National with 72K miles, T-tops, and $3,500 in mods.
Bigger turbo, cam, injectors, downpipe, fuel pump, adj. regulator, custom chip, modded rear suspension, underdrive pulleys, aftermarket wastegate, etc. runs pretty good for a little old v6.

87' Plymouth Horizon will hopefully be the recipient of a 2.2 turbo engine soon...I can't wait for this sleeper to imerge! Have done nothing to it yet, But I would like to ask a question...I shouldnt have a problem with a swap should I? Any year? Or do I have to go from an 87' to an 87'?

I just picked up a 12A, tranny, and rear end from an RX-7 out of the junkyard. The plan is to use a Weber DCOE45, in conjunction with a custom turbo setup, then install it into an MG Midget using a shortened RX-7 rear-end. To the tune of about 200hp, and 1400lbs.

Why bother, especially when my Omni is faster and was a lot cheaper? Because i'm a huge Brit-car fan, i just wish they didn't come with such anemic powerplants.

Besides being a TD man, I'm also a turbo volvo nut. I had a Volvo 740 wagon that ran 15.2 @ 95.99 mph with a 2.6' 60 foot time, I had to sell it tho!! I really miss that car. 3.73' gears, posi, 16psi, extra injector, 255lph fuel pump, and a hacksawed exhaust the turbo was loud to say the least. It was probably one of the more sleeper cars that i have owned.

The closest thing we have to a turbo car is my dad's 1999 Buick Regal GS with a supecharger. Definately a fun car but it's no turbododge.

for 1.0L and 3 cylinders, 15.2@89MPH seems pretty darn impressive! cool

sometimes i think the same thing with my Cutlass....why do i bother? even after i have the TGP engine in there i don't see it ever catching my GTS. the TGP Turbo 3.1 MPFI engine is just sooooo....un-upgradeable. not only did ASC/Mclaren use a puny little T-too small on an engine way too big for it, but they also do it with 8.8:1 compression and an intake/heads that don't flow crap. retards. getting my Cutlass to run sub 14 seconds will be a miracle on the stock turbo. i'd rather try to make a Series-1 L67 SSEi Bonneville quick lol. ha ok rant over, but it's cool that some of you guys have something different. most people here just have multiple turbo dodges...altho if i had the space i would too!

We have a 63' Mini Cooper Delivery, It's your basic Mini-Cooper with a slightly longer wheel base, and a cargo area behind the front seats indead of rear seats, and dual rear doors instead of a hatch. I learned to drive stick in it years ago, but it's been in storage for a few years now. He did quite a bid of work to it years ago when he bought it, it's been bored out with aftermarket pistons, it's got a Cooper S crank, upgraded cooling system. I want to buy it off my dad and get it back up and running well, then enter it in Autocross events, god that would be fun.

Ive been planning for a long time to twin turbo my 96 Indy Ram. Ive just never gotten to a point where I can get started on it. 408 stroker, 8:1 forged pistons, electromotive or haltech electronics, with two T3 Garrets. Should be sweet. Already have one turbo, and the exhaust manifolds I need, just need the other turbo, pistons, and ignition system.
