YoungGun05: You have a nice car there. Only thing I have beef with is the stuff you put over the grille. I'd take that off, it blocks airflow to the radiator. Body kit is tasteful, wonder what company makes it?

There isn't much difference body wise between the 90/91's and the 92's as far as I know. And the ecu is very similar to the one that is in there already, so it should mout right up, hell, they may even use the same wiring harness.

hey i was looking at intercoolers and was wondering if this one would fit my car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...904966019&rd=1
And if that does fit then what else do I need.

1985ShlbyChrger: Actually I thought that too at first but i mean I cant really show you in pictures but there are pretty but gaps in betweent the shit. So I mean it might block some air but it is really small amout and the engine keeps cool realy good with the air it is getting but I figured to solve that problem I would instal a cold air intake. I got the filter on the way but I gotta make it from scratch to right now I am trying to decide where would be the best spot for it to end up. If anyone has any ideas then help me out. But ya thanks for the complement, I cant remember who makes it because I got it so long ago but I know that they stopped making it which sucks but I guess not really because then there wont be any lebaron's like mine out there.

ya, im really close to getting red underbody lighting for it but i dont know as of yet. It will be a 160 investment that could cost me 230 after I get a ticket for having them. So I dont know if it is worth the risk.. I will probably end up getting them but I wont to make sure that I can afford the ticket because I guaruntee you that it will be for having the lights and speeding so it is going to be costly, and I have already been through STOP class, it didn't work at all.

Red lights would be a bad idea IMO, it WILL cost you later.

what do you mean it will cost me later. Are you talking about getting pulled over by the cops because i did figure that into my budget. But why would it be a bad idea it looks real tight on my friends Laser that he has but his car is white. I mean I might start out with some small one like under the dash, where your feet go and see how it looks. Becuase I mean if a cop pulls me over then I will just have a switch to turn them off. I know I can turn off the underbody lights but he will have already seen them and probably give me a fix it ticket or something to have them taken off. But I dont know I know first I need to finsih paying off the car I have like 500 dollars left on my loan so I will have to get that taken car of first.

Damn, unless you are doing fuel mods and plenty of other things, I would go with a bolt in VNT or R/T Intercooler/rad combo. I just did that for $225 and my rad is new (recored) and the IC is new. I'm pleased and just need a coolant overflow bottle now. Pics to come.

As I understand it a Cold Air Intake will only help a naturally aspirated system or one that is non-intercooled. Once you intercool it, you not only negate the need for a CAI, but also in effect are cooling it better than you could by just sucking up 'outside' air. Also, You're not going to solve how well your radiator works with a CAI. The radiator is to help keep your engine cool. A CAI is to lower the intake charge on your incoming air and improve your combustion. So you're mixing up concepts there.

The kit looks very much like an A&A Specialties kit, which was discontinued. There is a guy in Mexico who got one brand new last year as a warehouse 'lucky find' and is investigating not only reproducing it, but reproducing it in better material so its less fragile.

Why not just convert to a 90/91' ECU and wiring harness, they are pretty common from what I have seen, if you can't find one, I'll get you one for a good deal, I think I know where half a dozen are. How different are the ECU and Wiring harnesses between the 90/91's and 92+.

Ummm they are WAYYYY different. The 92 T-1 computer is the SBEC II configuration (http://hhscott.com/93tmv/SBEC_Conn.htm)

The general consensis is that to get a cal, you will have to either re wire the entire car with a 90 harness, or attemp the dual SBEC config outlined in the above website. As for getting someone to re cal a sbec II, the T-1 sbec II is RARE......and cores would be a problem.

Anyway, REALLY nice car. I would tacle the wiring job on a nice car like that.......That is a A&A body kit. The Razzi one had the ugly ribs in it on the side skirts. And as mentioned before, the grill being blocked off will hurt flow, so i would go back to the original configuration. Check out my website for what i did to my grill (like the blue baron's grille)

Lastly, that cooler is NOT going to fit in the car.....take it from experience. If you are going to keep it somewhat stock, the spirit R/T intercooler radiator will be good. I just got done stuffing a Spearco 221 intercooler in the front, and kept my flip lights in tact. It was a squeeze.

Good luck

Joe

I too have a 92 gtc 5spd convertible. ( still in my garage since August) brrn busy...
I understand to convert to 91 electronics you have to add 1 cable for the air charge sensor, drill a hole for the sensor and move a couple pins on the computer harness. As far as the intercooler goes, I plan on puting a second headlight door motor instead of having one in the middle, the car will have 2 motors right next to the headlight doors.
