I've got a friend who has an old maverick grabber clone with an almost completely stock 302 stuffed in it. What would it take (modifications) to put a silgle turbo on it?

Thanks for the help!
Gary

Check out http://www.turbomustangs.com for some ideas.
If they don't EFI it, they'll probably run a blow-thru carb, which there is a section dedicated to on the forum, and have to modify a Holley or can buy a pre-modified car.

ACTUALLY

There is a guy running a single turbo Blow-Thru carb Maverick. But I can't find that link.

http://mmb.maverick.to/ Check here as well.

Have your friend look in to superchager it will be around the same price if he get's a nice turbo kit But you can build a junk yard turbo for a 302 around 1200 alot of the mustang guys at my web site i go to just turn the stock header up side down and do it that way with the turbo coupe turbo or the svo, or the mustang gt turbo when you could get a gt with the 2.3L turbo before the svo but i will get you some pics of guys with there junkyared turbo kits they have made i hope this will help

Yup, Flipping or reverseing the headers is one way. But the Maverick engine bay is a little smaller. I really wish I could find this one guy's site because he pretty much has a "junkyard" setup.

I havent seen his car in about 3 weeks but he says he's got the headers reversed and cut. He said he's done a lot of cutting and welding under the hood to make room. If you happen to find the site with the turbo Maverick let me know and I'll print it off for him.
Thanks again for the help!

There is a lot of pics and some more info there.

Single or twin? I'd go twin with a pair of JY T03's from the 2.3 fords. 60/63's will do great. and the price would be better than a big single setup correctly. If you do go single then on a 302 you will need a .81 or similar Turbine A/R or it will spool too late.
