hey guys i have an 84 nissan 300zxt it is the 3.0 v6 with a t3 i believe, the turbo says garrett on it.

i tried to sell it for a long time, and now i am deciding to keep it. when i did drive it it pulled alot harder than my '86 glh-t and i had a mp lm in it with 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust with no muffler running 14 psi. and as far as i know to my knowledge, my nissan is pretty much stock besides no cats or muffler and a dsm b.o.v.

i was just wondering if anyone around here as one or know anyone that does. my omni ran a 14.8 and the 300 is faster by far. i got it up to 115 on my road and it was still pulling.

just thought i would share with you guys and see what you thought and your feed back.
thanx,
adam.

They are indeed unique machines.. but it might feel faster and feel to pull harder, but im sure if you took it to the track, you might see a different story.

but here, check this out.. its an article from '84 comparing the "Z" to its closest of competition for its time. http://z31.com/articles/6/

enjoy

Hey no problem Just remove the "6" from that link i posted and there are a bunch of other articles for the Z. Infact that website offers some decent info about the Z and how to keep it, run it, and run it faster

hehehe, kinda funny how they talk about just a hair over 200hp being excellent.. haha.. You can get more than that from a stock Honduh nowadays.. And as for them saying the torque is great, most TD's at 200hp are making way more torque than those two were sportin..
Also kinda funny that they chose the '84 Corvette.. It's considered the absolute worst year to get. Truck suspension, and they made waaaayyy to many of them.. Saw something on TV where they said if you HAVE to have a corvette, and can't afford one, the '84 would be the one to get.. haha..

im sorry are you bashing my thread? i was simply wondering if anyone had one around here. and if i sank ther money into may glh to make it 200 horse, the nissan would be at over 300. i had a mp lm mbc and free flowing exhaust on my glh and it is still a turtle compared to my BONE stock 300zx
and i have 75 dollars invested in my 300zx

Nope, not bashing your thread. Just making comments on the old magazine article. Nothing personal. I almost bought an '84 300ZX myself once. Turbo makes everything better.

oh ok. yeah i really like it and it is a blast to drive, the only thing that i dont like is the rearend. but other than that not really any complaints here. and the lady that talks to me when i leave my lights on sounds hhot lmao. as soon as spring rolls around i will have 3 inch exhaust on it with prolly a dynomax bullet. but i just seen the new bullet looking race mufflers flowmaster came out with and i might try one of those. i dunno. i might run no muffler at all. i like that best so far.

yeah i know they dont. but i dont care. i am trying to find another glh though.

and i am posting in the right spot where i can talk about my 300zx and what i plan on doing to it.

i did post under the NON DODGE turbo vehicles didnt.

so i dont care if people dont give a hoot. if they dont give a hoot they dont have to read what i have to say right?

um, my n/a 3.0 94 spirit pulls at 115mph..........and that was going into utah from idaho at 5k feet.......................not downhill.

I dont see how a 3.0 300zx TURBO pulling at 115mph is impressive.

feeling fast is different than being fast. The old 300zx, as stated in a book out there, was made for 0-30mph accelleration to give customers the "fast" feeling. Hop in a porshe and it might seem laggy, but it will destroy the 300zx because it has a real turbo on it.

ohh i am sorry the garrett t-3 that is on there now isnt a "real" turbo in your opinion?
and i am sorry that a car that i paid 150 dollars for seems kind of fast. why in the hell would i hop in a porsche?why does just about everyone that says something on this thread have to be a dick about it. i just started it to say how happy i was because i got a semi-fast car for cheap. and porsches may be fast but i dont like them. if i wanted to drive a yuppie car i would go to my local HONDA dealer

300z's for $150 are a rare exception. It's not common and normal like it is with a TD.

I knew a kid at vocational school that had one with teh same mods you described done to yours.

He ran my T1 omni wht the same mods you described to yours and they were right next to each other. Some cars just FEEL faster than others sometimes due to weight issues and gearing. I'd be interested to see you take the 300 to teh track and run it and see what happens, should be fun!

well it looks like i got another glh-t and got rid of the 300zx, thanx to mario and calvin. and to anyone who thinks i was "bashing" td's i wasnt. i was simply stating that it seemed that my mainly stock 300zx seemed to pull harder than my glht. thats it, end of story. so now i will have the glh-t from calvin, my bif hillbilly truck and my daily driver, the grandma car(91 buick regal limited) its pretty kool digital dash and all. not too bad for 150 bones, and it is very very reliable
