i was just wondering if anyone around here as one or know anyone that does. my omni ran a 14.8 and the 300 is faster by far. i got it up to 115 on my road and it was still pulling.
just thought i would share with you guys and see what you thought and your feed back.
thanx,
adam.

They are indeed unique machines.. but it might feel faster and feel to pull harder, but im sure if you took it to the track, you might see a different story.
but here, check this out.. its an article from '84 comparing the "Z" to its closest of competition for its time. http://z31.com/articles/6/
enjoy

Hey no problem Just remove the "6" from that link i posted and there are a bunch of other articles for the Z. Infact that website offers some decent info about the Z and how to keep it, run it, and run it faster

hehehe, kinda funny how they talk about just a hair over 200hp being excellent.. haha.. You can get more than that from a stock Honduh nowadays.. And as for them saying the torque is great, most TD's at 200hp are making way more torque than those two were sportin..
Also kinda funny that they chose the '84 Corvette.. It's considered the absolute worst year to get. Truck suspension, and they made waaaayyy to many of them.. Saw something on TV where they said if you HAVE to have a corvette, and can't afford one, the '84 would be the one to get.. haha..

Nope, not bashing your thread. Just making comments on the old magazine article. Nothing personal. I almost bought an '84 300ZX myself once. Turbo makes everything better.

Maybe you can find a Z forum.. Not many people here give a hoot what you do with your car.

um, my n/a 3.0 94 spirit pulls at 115mph..........and that was going into utah from idaho at 5k feet.......................not downhill.
I dont see how a 3.0 300zx TURBO pulling at 115mph is impressive.
feeling fast is different than being fast. The old 300zx, as stated in a book out there, was made for 0-30mph accelleration to give customers the "fast" feeling. Hop in a porshe and it might seem laggy, but it will destroy the 300zx because it has a real turbo on it.

300z's for $150 are a rare exception. It's not common and normal like it is with a TD.

I knew a kid at vocational school that had one with teh same mods you described done to yours.
He ran my T1 omni wht the same mods you described to yours and they were right next to each other. Some cars just FEEL faster than others sometimes due to weight issues and gearing. I'd be interested to see you take the 300 to teh track and run it and see what happens, should be fun!
