my friend just bought a .60(comp.)/.63(turbine) garrett turbo off of ebay for his nissan 2.0 engine. It arrived with a turbine A/R ratio of 1.00

It's straight from garrett, brand new in the box, and says garrett on both housings. The serial number is 'GE 0573E', and the part number is '465960-5003 S'.

Does anyone know if the center section would bolt up to one of our .48 or .63 turbine housing/wheels?

I have a feeling this turbo wouldn't even turn on his engine - please help him out

That is a big MoFo, and it certianly wont spool without some nitrus to get her going. Just realized that it is a Nissan, and therefore I must say that it probably wont spool unless it is DOHC, and has a whicked port job.

The first thing I would do, other than call someone under the ospices of getting a rebuild kit, would be to determine if it is a T3 center section. If so, I would pull the hotside, and see what trim that wheel is. If it is not a standard wheel, then you would need to find a housing machined for that particular wheel.

It looks to be a monster, and you would probably be better off trying to get your money back out of it somehow, and picking up a properly sized turbo.

how would I determine if it's a standard wheel? I have micrometers and calipers if that helps in any way

one more thing, the compressor side is a .60 - soooo would it be considered a "super 60" compressor?

I believe that the .60 should be the A/R ratio of the compressor housing. If you do a search, you will eventually find a chart with the sizes of all the different compressor housings, and turbine housings too. I hate to search for that darn thing, as it always takes me at least 30 min to find it, but others can pull it up in no time. I though that turboneticsinc.com had it on thier site, but I could not find it a minute ago.

Try google, if those two options don't work, as you will eventually find it there too.
