does anyone know if my 94 talon non turbo motor can be turbo'd w/o changing major components such as injectors, and wire harness. Please leave me any comments to help me along. Thanks, WestvilleRacing

I don't think your going to get a very good answer on this forum, a DSM board or even a Neon forum might be able to provide more info.

I know the non-turbo Talons used a chrysler 2.0 DOHC with the head flip-flopped in comparison to a neon. Search the web for Hahn racecraft, I've seen them run a few of these cars converted to turbo and not blow them up. They sell turbo kits for the car and can probably tell you what all needs to be changed to make it reliable.

Keep in mind that installing a turbo is a major upgrade, changing the injectors would be the least of my worries with the swap.

i think it should hold 5 or 6 psi without mods. Then comes more fuel, fuel management, lower compression etc...

the 94 is a 1st gen and it has the non turbo 4g63 2.0 in it with a c/r of 9.0:1, no oil squirters, no knock sensor or the wiring for it, the mass air flow meter is missing one wire, the injectors are like 2xx some cc/min and the turbo auto's are 390cc/min and 5 speed turbos' are 450cc/min, so basically all you need is the turbo, downpipe, exhuast mani, new water pipe and thermostat housing for turbo coolant lines, turbo oil pan and lines for turbo oiling, 390 or 450 injectors, oh i would try to find a 1st gen 14b turbo which came on 89-94 manual turbo cars, a manual or auto ecu for whichever injectors your running, a turbo mass air flow sensor and add the one wire from the comp to it, a knock sensor and add the wire from comp to that and im probably forgetting a few things so go check out dsmtalk.com or dsmtuners.com

forget to tell you, you also need the intercooler and all the piping and the throttlebody and the 1st gen bypass valve plumbed back into the intake before the turbo, and you'll need a turbo intake mani or just drill and tap another hose barb in it for the vacuum line to the blow off.

With how cheap that you can get an AWD DSM just find a fixer upper turbo for about $500

You can find them every couple of weeks on DSMTUNERS.COM

Here is an AWD 1G with new motor (probably just needs a clutch switch) for just $750 in Washington State. Jump the circuit and test the car. This is just an example so there is no point to invent the wheel for a DSM.

VFAQ is a place to get answers for a lot of questions. The 7 bolt motor will not hold lots of power.I have a 92 awd with a 6 bolt motor and 4 bolt rear and it is pretty tough. You can turbo those 2.0 motors in the 94. You will need a lot of stuff. Fuel supply, turbo, electronics. If it is a manual you will need a manual ecu if it is a automatic you will need a turbo ecu for automatic. You get the idea. The automatics had 390cc injectors and the manuals are 450cc.The manual has the 14b turbo and the automatic has the 13b. Like it has already been said you might be better off buying a turbo car. They are easier to mod than to build it into a turbo car. They are really fun though. You just work on them A LOT !!!!
