Could you, by chance, post the 1992 Daytona Salesman's Guide info?

Thanks NAJ! A boat load of info. Looks like my VNT came optional with the Popular Equipment Package, Overhead Convenience Package and the Power Seats.

Interesting that I don't see (or missed it) the Sunroof option. You could get a Sunroof in 1990 correct?

I bought my 90 daytona vnt new and still have it (but it does not run now). It is equipped with a 2.2 VNT, 5 speed, Black inside and out, a/c power convience group, infinity stereo, leather power seats and sunroof. I might have forgot something but I think that is it.

I have put over 250,000 miles on mine. The original engine ran for about 200,000 miles untill it lost oil pressure (no damage, just lost oil pressure). My wife was mostly driving it back then and we had a new engine put in at the dealer and drove it for over 50 thousand more miles before we had a head failure and parked it. I need to get it going but have way too many projects.

Thx-Ace

I saw one back in 1994. It was a White 90 Daytona Shelby sitting on the used car lot at the local Pontiac dealer. I was there with my dad looking at 86 SVO and while waiting for the salesman to get the keys to the SVO I was playing in the Daytona and saw the switch in the console and saying that's cool and pushing the buttons. Never thought anything of it until years later.

I've seen no proof over the years that any were sold to the public with the electronic suspension Randy. I've looked a long time for that. I've read numerous times on this forum, however, that the car farm in Bluefield has one of the prototypes sitting in the field with the setup in it. I haven't been there myself so I can't say for certain.

Note: If you look up info on the 1990 Daytona R/T prototype, one of the brochures listed the driver-selectable suspension with a picture of the 3 buttons on the console. I'm not finding it with a Google image search right now, but I think I have the brochure saved on my computer at home.

I remember hearing about one, or perhaps a LeBaron years ago.
Strange how equipment gets cancelled between literature printing and product availability.

Reminds me of the 1970, 454, LS7 (460-465 HP) engine that was to power the Corvette, it even shows up in owners manuals but John Z Delorean cancelled it at the last minute.

Thanks
Randy

The adjustable suspension seems to have existed in only a handful of personal accounts. The above picture I've saved from a thread may be the only photographic proof it existed.

It does exist in the 1990 FSM however. There is troubleshooting information and wiring diagrams to the adjustable suspension.

I made that post ten years ago detailing my discovery of an adjustable suspension Daytona in a salvage yard near Laingsburg MI. Wow, time flies!

In the ensuing years I happened to have a conversation with a gentleman who was a young engineer at Monroe at the time they were producing the dampers in question. He stated that the problem was small particle contamination of the shock oil leading to the adjustable valving becoming jammed.

He described what usually happened was that the driver would select a mode and three of the dampers might respond correctly but one would not. Monroe went to great lengths "sanitizing" the manufacturing facilities in attempts to correct the issue but they were not able to get a handle on the problem and the option was cancelled

I still have my VNT Daytona, the paint looks bad but it's rust free runs great and is mechanically solid for 225K miles.

I also still have the switch down in the basement somewhere. Here is a link to the original thread.

I have the 1990 and 1992 Dodge (and other years too) decoding books. These are small bound booklets the salesmen used in ordering vehicles. Included are the prices and sales codes for the optional and standard possibilities for all the Dodge cars.

I have these for 1988-1996 Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge and Dodge Truck. Got them during those years when I subscribed to the company that was sending them to the dealerships.

None of the 3 issue dates of 10-12-89, 3-1-1990 or 7-24 -1989 for the Dodge show the suspension package mentioned above. There is a T-top option AET shown in 7-24-1989 issue for $1563.00, CS option AGS for 2778.00 & AGB for 1550.00.

Odd there is a mention of the T-top in the earliest version of the 1990 decoder.
