My buddy has a BBC sand drag car he is thinking of turbocharging. Im just looking for info on the subject right now. Has anyone here done this or have any links to info on the subject? The engine will be carburated, not fuel injected. Im interested in what turbo or turbos would be a good choice and how they will be plumbed into the exhaust. I would like to try to fab something up myself instead of just getting a kit. Any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe a super? My buddy just did so to his mostly stock 400 Chevy SB and got almost 500hp with over 500 tq. Likely a lot less headache (as much as I love turbos)

I'd recommend a belt driven charger of sorts. Sand drags are so short that you'd have a hard time getting a nice shot on the liine. I'm redoing my mud truck (similar deal, only 200 ft.) probably with a blower this time.

OTOH, I have some video of some diesel pickups that sound as thought they get a pretty good deal of boost built up with autos at the dragstrip.
