Yes, $3,500 isn't exactly cheap, I'll agree with you there. Some folks though have the coin to spend and don't want to get there hands dirty. You could do it yourself much cheaper if you don't mind a little work and have tools, welder, ect... Another thing I noticed about their turbo kit is that it (the turbo) is not water cooled. (not the best setup for a street driven vehicle)
As for fuel ecconomy, I don't know about an increase with a turbo, but when I added mine it didn't get any worse. (at least not when I'm driving normally)
Your stock compression is 8.8:1, with that you should be able to run 6-7psi no problem. Good luck with your project.
