i saw a conquest for sale today but i don't know much about them except they're mitsubishi rear wheel drive. are they like turbo dodges? i saw one on ebay with a 440 in it, so i think if the need arose a 2.2 could be fit with a dakota tranny. would it be a reliable daily driver? or a money pit? i'm gonna go ask how much they're asking for it later on today.

They are similar, cept that the engine is a weak 2.6 (very similar to the 2.6 used in early K cars and minivans) with TBI injection and a turbo, not very reliable, and not very powerfull.

I've heard scuttlebutt about swapping in the 4g63 is the hot ticket if you want to keep it 4cyl turbo.

and the large FMIC that they have is an excellent item to crib from it for your TD too.

It'l be like any other TD, as long as it was well cared for, it should have little problems, as long as you just cruise around in it you should be ok.

BTW I've got a few Conquest FSM's if you decide to pic the car up.

My 35,000 mile black pearl TSi ("collector") is none of the above.

Unfortunately not for the street but there was a 4wd Starion.

The 4wd starion rally car was very successful

The Starion was raced successfully all over the world.

I own both a 86 Omni GLH and a 1988 Chrysler Conquest.
Like any 20 year old car you need to make sure everything is working 100% before you look for performance gains. If you find out what makes them tick the Conquest/Starion can be very reliable.I get more comments/questions about my Conquest than I do the GLH.As far as the 2.6 being weak I think shelbyturbo just needs a ride in one.
