i dont know where it came from or who made it. i used to have a baffled oil pan on my daily driver 88 tbi omni 5 speed. i added one of those crank scrapers you can get off ebay to the mix and the car wound up much quicker and had a way better top end. and also ran very smoothly. this is a good mod to do and im sure adds quite a a few ponies. although i have no dyno sheet to prove it. i have a smiliar setup in my csxt and it winds very fast, faster then im used to a 2.2 doing. i have no idea where you can find one of the baffled oil pans i think the previous owner made it him self, but they sell the crank scrapers on ebay and i think gary donovan used to sell them?

T1 intake manifold (I didnt see it up ther but that doesnt mean its not there)

parallel 14-19lb inj wires and hook them to the stock tbi wiring. install the rest of the tbi sensors to the intake manifold. possibly swap fuel pump on older cars. or run the turbo injectors at a low pressure.

or make an adapter to bolt the tbi unit to the neck of the T1 intake.

sorry, forgot some critical info.... you must use high impedance injectors (ie like 14-15ohms) from cars like neons, ford probe first gen non turbo' s (i think they have the 14lb ones) etc.... when you parallel them, it comes close to the impedance of the stock low impedance TBI injector. I havent done it yet, (no need... one TBI car left thats gonna be junked soon enough) but there are a few folks that have. Gary used to have a link to derek bedlands (sp? correct last name??) site (the link is dead now) and derek did the conversion im pretty sure. thats where I remember the info coming from. the site had a black background and blue lettering.

Get rid of the stock airbox and bolt one on from an Omni/Horizon. Makes the CAI mod easier.

Netted me 2-4MPG.

what about removing the coolant line that goes to the intake. I have heard that mentioned before, but that line is threaded to the bottom of t-stat housing. I guess if you knew the thread pattern and bolt size you could block that up. ALso you would need heater control valve that doesnt have the section that goes to the intake......oh wait, would you hook that straight into the t-stat housing?

Thank you. Still not done with it yet, but the 12-button traveller makes checking economy on the mods a breeze.

Check out page 7 of my cardomain site for the full rundown, from the bracket to the PCV hose. Takes about 3 hrs. to do the conversion if you have a welder. Auto trans. will be a bolt-n-go operation.

Good, cheap, basic mod: NGK ZFR5N (or Autolite 985, if you must) spark plugs, extended-nose design as used in many late-model Mopars, everything from LH V6s through to 4-litre Jeeps. This spark plug was designed to move the spark point closer to the centre of the combustion chamber and away from quench surfaces. It won't turn your TBI car into a racer, but pays noticeable dividends in everyday driveability, emissions and mileage (surprise...that's why they made the plugs this way!) I get the ZFR5Ns at RockAuto for about $2/ea.

Bosch platinums? Never, ever again.

slantsixdan, that don't make the vehicle interference would it? Last thing I'd ever want is a piston hitting the spark plug. They're very close to start off with. I know this because I toasted a bearing in my turbovan, and it sent piston 1 right into the spark plug.

I know they make 10:1 Pistons for the 3.0L (not sure if it has been mentioned before), but you'll have to run premium and it will make the engine an interference engine.
