This spark plug was designed to move the spark point closer to the centre of the combustion chamber and away from quench surfaces. It won't turn your TBI car into a racer, but pays noticeable dividends in everyday driveability, emissions and mileage (surprise...that's why they made the plugs this way!) I get the ZFR5Ns at RockAuto for about $2/ea.

Bosch platinums? Never, ever again.
what did you gap these plugs at?

I just wanted to add, if you have a 91 or newer TB car, your stock ignition box should be the square 40,000V coil bolted to the thermostat. Dont know about the Pre91 voltages, but the factory 91 is a great coil.

well i see turbovans point. And i think this was on a budget of 600 bucks.. I asked in a previous thread about a stock 2.5 tbi block if it could take a 50 shot of juice every once in a great while and i got no solid answers. just that i was a ricer. which i'm not, i'm a middle aged dude that is spending his money into another car and it bleeds over to my daily driver the shadow es. which is a blast to drive stock as is. but i'm not gonna be shaving heads and throwing in cams etc etc. in my driveway on a weekend. I think the original thread was bolt ons. aka. exhaust. the air box mod, timing, etc. Hell for 600 he could find a used running complete turbo engine and drop it in.. with some "bolts" on the car now couldn't he?

Since I learned about the Autolite 985s here I figured I would ask what other plugs people were using. I've been looking at the new bosch plugs, either the +4's or the irridium fusions; or a company I just learned about being E3. I was just curious if anyone had any expeirence with these, or if I was going to be a guinney pig. Thanks in advance.

I just did a tun up today on the good old slowdance and used the autolite 985's and i must say the difference was amazing I really wasn't expecting such a change.

I recommend the change to everyone.

I am wondering when people are going to try the new F series turbo cams in the TBIs. That F3 should work great.
