Very well might be different. Remember that the 85 had a G head and the 86 is fast burn. Also if the 86 is not a H.O. then it won't have the knock sensor.

Yeah, you'll have to drill and tap the intake manifold for the knock sensor. On the H.O. cars, it's right below the airbox on runner #4 IIRC. In addition to the heads being different between '85 and '86, the distributor is also different. You'll likely have to run the '85 distributor.
