just a thought, if you have a few inches to spare, a 24v 3.0 might make it as well. rated 205/205 (2000+ eclipse GT CHP/CTQ compared to the chrysler 141CHP 170CTQ) and can be SC/turboed to ~300WHP (8psi is safe limit) easily. it also wil bolt up to an A543 (did it on my P-body 24v swap) it DOESNT run a serpintine belt, the PS pully/pump is smaller, etc. the size issue is that the heads ale a little wider than the 12vs and the manis are different, but it would sound mean and turn some heads as far as performance. think of all that low end torque....lol

A 12 valve & A604 will fit in an omni . . . I know. I've been driving a Rampage with that combo in it for two summers.
The radiator must be relocated forward, pusher fans installed & hood pins installed to fit the front exaust manifold in.

That's sweet! KFA!

Did you relocate the alternator because it would hit the strut tower?

No power steering either. I bet that thing is pretty quick.

Thanks, dude!!

Just wanted a clean look & didn't want to try to set up an alternator drive without power steering. Power steering pulley would have hit the frame & brake lines. Besides, it was already converted to manual.

BTW. it leaves plenty of room for the turbo!!

Hell yeah it does. Was relocating the alternator a big deal?

No, i cut most of the ac bracket off & mounted a generic chevy alternator bracket on it. Then i made a bottom bracket & installed a v-belt pulley.

Here's a few pics of the tight spaces you're dealing with & why ac & power steering don't fit.

Ok guys, here goes some more detail for those of you who really want to know.

Right mount: 3.0 minivan mount modified to raise it 3/4" up & inboard as far as possible

Front mount: heavily modified minivan mount with 2.2 alternator bushings for insulator & modified L-body frame bracket.

Left mount: L-body auto mount with holes slotted to fit A604

Axles: large spline L-body auto (will fit 5-speed also)

Alternator mount: covered in earlier post

PS, PB, AC: don't have them

Wiring: merged L-body harness with minivan harness.
I plan on installing an 88 dash & wiring with a matching under
hood harness so that i can get my cruise & such working.

Fuel Pump: stock pump for an 85 lancer mounted externally
(use a L-body TBI tank & internal pump if you can get it)

Radiator: Jeep Cherokee 4.0L moved forward with 2 10" front mounted
pusher fans
