not if using a stock cam, you'd need to take off over .150" for that to occur but still, I've got several 4 cyl engines that are interference (.180" off a 2.3 ford with .600 lift cam) in 20+ years racing 4 cylinders, the interference issue have never been a problem... broken rods, spin out the car and not getting the clutch pushed in fast enought that the engine reversed rotation, and a failed aux shaft bolt allowing the pulley to come off.

With a turbo 2.2 or 2.5 how much would you recommend taking off on those without increasing the headgaskt size or head shim?

To keep stock compression, either take off as little as possible, just to clean it up if your head isn't straight or something, like .010. Remember, .030 = about .5:1 of compression, and you don't want that on a turbo motor. If you had to shave your head, I'd probably get it shaved about .020 because I know fel pro makes a shim of that size, unless you wanted the extra .3:1 of compression or so that comes with a .020 shave. If you had it milled just .010 that barely has an effect on compression, like .15:1, which is nothing to worry about.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I was curious about what I would need to change on a head milled .090? Will I need a shorter belt, and/or larger pulley, or can I get away with the stock components? Thanks in advance.

you definitly need to degree the cam. your stock timing belt will be too long to tension. several optons to fix (shorter belt, larger diameter tensioner pulley, relocate tensioner pulley, add another idler pulley.)

Thanks for the input. If I am correct I will need to advance timing about 3*, but I've heard a few different ideas on that note. Beyond, where would I be able to find a shorter belt as I can't seem to find them on the MP website? Or in your honest opinion would it be better to modify the pulley system? Thanks again for all the advice.
