2.5L 523 surges a bit when I shift gears

93 Shadow 2.5L tbi 523 manual transmission.

When I go to shift gears, the RPM jumps up a bit, IE if I'm at 3k and I shift, it'll jump to 3300 for a bit, then go back down.

Is this normal? If it's a problem, I'm thinking AIS sensor?

maybe a vaccum leak?
try powerfoaming it to clean it out maybe?

no codes, I ran some sea foam through it a month aho.

idle and rev fine? if you like accel in 2nd gear then hold the gas just enough to maintain rpms then shift into 3 will it still do it or only when your like acceling then shift

AIS is open under cruise and acceleration. so when you push the clutch in it might be enough to have it rev up.
