I have a 91 shadow that i race circle track with and yesterday i blew the motor....its a 2.5 and i have another motor out of an 89 caravan which is also a 2.5...I was curious if there was any diffrences between the shadow engine and the one in the caravan, sinc the caravan being a heavyer vehicle if it would have more tourque or something by means of a diffrent cam or something. I heard the intakes on certain vans are diffrent but i cant remember what years.
thanks

absolutely NO difference. now why did your engine fail? I'll bet you need to work on the oil pan to keep oil around the pickup. I failed 5 engines 5 weeks in a row on my first dodge circle track car. it was the 5th engine/oil pan design, that worked and that engine lasted 4 seasons without problem

Yes, thats exactly why it went, how exactly did u stop the oil from running away from the pickup? I know mesh or baffles of somekind in the oil pan, but what design and material.....I will have the motor going in soon cause i need it ready for this comming saturday and i dont want to be replacing another motor next week, lol
thanks
also there was a guy last year who ran a dodge and was going through a moor almost every two weeks al year, he then gave up and went to a diffrent make of car.
Edit: also would it be better if i extended the pick up to go deeper into the pan or something along with baffles to help more?

I bored a hole thru the pan right where the pickup tube aligns with the bottom of the pan, then I cut and extended the 1988 2.2 pickup tube 2". I then built a sump below the the pan that holds 2 qts. additionally I put in a hinged baffle on the passenger side of the pan so oil would be blocked under hard left turns then would open allowing drain back on the straights. also added some baffles to prevent oil from sloshing for and aft under braking and acceleration.

make sure you mill the head and centerline the cam... this will easily add 20-30 hp for very little money. I milled my head .120 in the "stock" class. you may also need to drill and tap a new hole in the block for the tensioner or get the shorter timing belt.
