E-85...thats racing alchohol, right?!! where do you guys get that stuff? i hear its like 75 cents a gallon (compared to 2.89 for reg unleaded). also, id imagine you'd only want to run that stuff on an ffv car long term, 'cause the stuff is corrosive. but tell me more about it...i want to know!!!!

capev86 . . . E-85 is 85% corn alky & 15% gas. They sell it at the pumps here. Racing alky is methanol.

Sgtarky . . . .I wanted to find out for sure (science project). I'm not sure whether i want to go with a new power module & high impedence injectors or go turbo electronics. Thinking about bolting on turbo electronics & a turbo. Bet a high compression turbo motor on E-85 would run sweet.

E-85 does have the octane of significantly more expensive regular gas, but its not what they use for racing. I think you should at least go turbo electronics, if not turbo + turbo electronics. With a turbo smec you can use D-Cal and fine tune it in and take out all the hard starting and all that. Thats way cool that that works! If only they'd get some flippen E-85 where I live : (

Also, you said your mileage did not change? Thats fantastic! Everyone tries to detract from ethanol saying you'll get less mileage, but I'm of the opinion that thats only if you try to use it exactly like gasoline and while tuning don't take into consideration that it burns differently.

The milage hardly changed, but, the car got really poor milage on gas no matter what i did to it . . . even stock. It sure runs good on alky though. :-)

I see you're from Seattle... They don't sell E85 in Washington state.. unless you're military, and can get it on one of the 2 bases they sell it on..

Rampage, just checking on how your conversion worked out for you. My engine is still on the stand, hope to have the cashage around mid oct to set it in the car. Nearly got side tracked by a perfect 89 lebaron gtc convertible with a bad engine for 500 dollars.
