Check out my new '85 Omni GLH that I recently won on Ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopar...QQcmdZViewItem.

The car is about a 3 hour drive away from my home. I traveled down to see it, test drive it and leave the down payment on it last Tuesday. The body is in very good condition, the interior is in decent shape - the only notable issue is a hole in the collector part of the header.

Along with the car comes an awesome bonus. I get a shed full of new and used performance parts which includes a set of 4 "Crab"-style wheels, a couple of turbos, an extra 2.2 engine block, A555 Getrag transmission, performance rods, pistons, bearings, clutches, and a whole lot more. An excellent score, for sure!

The description of the car provides and overview that this car is already fairly modified. So, what do you think my fellow TD'ers - good deal or what?!

Thanks, Sirus. Yeah, the extra parts really made it a deal I couldn't refuse. Of course, my wife's not talking to me now - oh well.

I also just picked up a set of dual Weber 40mm DCOEs on a Ford Pinto manifold. Do you think I might be able to rig these up to use on the GLH? Check out the dual carb set-up at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT.

Any advise or wisdom about setting up the dual carbs would be appreciated. How much of a boost in HP might I expect running the duals vs. the stock Holley carb with larger-than-stock jets?

with the DCOE's you'll notice a nice difference in HP, if you contact pierce manifolds, they have the manifolds required for the 2.2 head. good score.

Thanks for the info, Cooter. I'll give Pierce a call and check into the 2.2 manifold.

nice carbed GLH's are very hard to find (so are nice GLH turbos for that matter), congrats on your score, this one looks to be a good deal.

Do a 16V hybrid head swap. Make an adapter and hook those carbs up

Thanks for all the input, gents. I really like the idea of keeping the GLH carb'd. I think it's going to look hot with the dual carb setup. I'm seriously considering doing the 16v hybrid build at some point down the road. Is there any good "How-To" info on building a 2.4l DOHC head / 2.2l block setup?

What are you going to do with the spare turbo-engine bits? I'd be interested if you want to sell.

Yeah the carbed setup would be sweet, but the turbo's got sooo much more HP potential, plus it can be done so cheaply.

Once I've picked up the car and the shed full of parts and get them all back home, I'll be able to take some kind of inventory of what I actually have. I do know that I have at least 2 individual turbos, which means I should have one that will be available for sale within the next 2 weeks.

I'll put you first on the list of people to contact once I have a better idea of what I've got and what I'm going to sell.

I'm going to mess around with the large jet single carb set-up for a bit while I work on adapting the dual carbs. I've got a full "heads-on-up" Turbo II set-up from an '89 LeBaron GTS that I will eventually incorporate into the car, though.

This is going to be too much fun!

Yeah, this was a deal I definitely couldn't pass up. I still haven't been able to convince my wife of that, though.
