5-speed is a godsend for mileage (look at the disparity in numbers between the MT & AT cars).
Since mine is a carb, I tapped a port near the front passenger's side of the carb. Any manifold vacuum source that will distribute ozone evenly between all the cylinders will work.

I recently had to put another TBI unit on my car. The previous unit cracked at the base. Noticed the car was quite sluggish after this. Idling poorly and such. Turns out the timing and fuel are fine. The Idle screw needed adjusting. Car runs much better now, as though it had a pair. Debating on bolting up a 5 speed.

Carlton- a520's are almost given away free, so go with it.
mike- I second the 'way you drive theory' I get kinda foot heavy at times. I did a little experiment. If a light was red, instead of speeding up to it, stopping and nailing the gas whe it was green I would just let off the gas let the car slow on its own, and if it changed just lightly apply the gas until i get my speed back. Most people nail the gas half way down until they reach speed then let off. I would just slightly accelerate pushing the gas down maybe an inch until the car reached speed. Let the car do its job, you can hold the gas and it will gradualy gain speed, you dont have to keep pushing down more until you get where you want. Anyways with all that said, i can get 30-40 miles more out of a tank of gas.

91 spirit 2.5l n/a 3 speed auto
this tank included about 200 miles back and forth to carlisle and the other 200 was mixed city/highway. the carlisle miles i goin 85mph most of the time, the rest were hard miles....what would usually be a 21mpg tank
i got 27.5 mpg! which means the carlisle miles i was getting over 30mpg!
mods include: 2" exhaust with dynomax super turbo muffler, gutted and sealed airbox with CAI, 2 TB spacers, ozone generator, platinum plugs

My '93 Shadow ES with a V6 / 604 automatic gets 24 mpg consistently as a work car. It's about a 60/40 split between highway and around town miles.
It used to get 23 mpg, but then I ported the intake, added a K&N air filter, and put in a 2-1/2" exhaust system with no cat. Picked up 17 WHP (to 150 now), and get an extra 1 mpg.

I get about 26- 28 highway, never really check my around town milage but its pretty stingy. I averaged about 17 pulling a daytona on a car dolly.
She does only weigh about 2850 when i went to the scale I was expecting it to weigh about 3500, scary to know the car I was towing weighed more than the truck I was driving !
Oh yea guess i should mention its a 88 carbed 2.2 dakota 5 speed base model
