I have a 91 shadow that i race circle track, 2.5 EFI, I was searching through this forum and found something about disableing the ECMs control to the distributor and running it at a constant 36*. How woudl i go about doing this and what benifit does it have?
Also anyone have any tips or tricks on getting the understeer out of these things, i'd love to hear it. Any cars that have similar but stiffer springs that will fit in the rear, I'm looking for a stifer spring for the right rear, right now i have ES springs all the way around.
Also another thing i was playing around with was the idea of making a sway bar bushing forone end of the sway bar in the control arm with a larger diameter than stock sort of preloading the sway bar one way so that when entering a corner the right control arm is pushed up wards pulling the left front control arm down twice as far as it normally woudl go with equal bushings... just not sure what side to put the bigger bushing in, any sugestions on this.
thanks in advance

first thing you do it ditch the EFI. get a carb setup and use a Weber carb. 2nd is you need to put in the right spring rates all around. what works best is 350# in both fronts, 300# in the lr and 400# in the rr. toe-out and negative camber on the RR. install an OBX or equiv differential, remove the entire left side control arm sway bar bushing and bracket. weld a ½" nut to the end of the bar and use bolt or threaded rod with a jamb nut to allow swaybar adjustment. there is a lot of things you can do, it all depends on your mechanical knowledge and how fast your learning curve is. I circle track raced a RWD car for 5 years before building a FWD. by my 3rd night out, I was spanking the competition. Due to circumstances, I only raced half the season, but had more feature wins than anyone else and ended up 4th in points.

I plan to ditch the EFI and go MPFI, I trust injection more since i havent a clue when it comes to carbs.
What do you get teh springs with those rates out of?
And the idea with the sway bar is pretty noticable and i know the tech guy will spot it, he's all over me and dosent believe a shadow should be as fast as it is, lol, since i'm the only dodge left that can even compete with the top half the field.
any tricks or tips or anything you have for circle track on ashvault i'd really be interested in hearing.
thanks

Anyone know anything about the timming thing i asked in my original post in the first sentence?
Also I heard on here there are three diffrent lower control arms for our cars, what are the diffrences?
I assume the K frame is the same for all teh narrow and wider cars so does this mean there are longer control arms that bolt into my K frame to give me more camber? maybe a daytona or something?
thanks
